A Letter to My Mother
I was looking through the archives of my other blog and noticed this Mother's Day letter. Since it ties in with the post below, I thought I would share it.
This began as a journal of my mother's progression through Alzheimer's, but I began it too late. Her journey is over, but mine is still on-going. I hope to chronicle here the journey that I take - the one through grief, acceptance and, ultimately, surviving Alzheimer's.

Eve--I have to believe that your mother knows--in some very secret way--what you've expressed in this sweet letter. I think we don't realize how good we become at communicating with our eyes and our touch, once the words disappear. I have to remind myself of this, sometimes. Maybe someday we'll be grateful for having been able to take care of our Moms, even though we'd never choose this path.
I loved the image of your ear against her chest, listening to her bones as they "talked" to you. You're still doing that, in a way.
Excellent mother, to inspire such a letter from her daughter. Lucky mother, to have such a daughter taking care of her.
